Customer Details
- Our customer is one of France's Biggest Energy Companies, they have their Global IT HQ based in La Defense and teams all over France, EMEA, APAC and the US. They have a huge Infrastructure with over 100,000 end users world wide!
- The customer has fallen behind on their Microsoft Exchange migration and have some staff turnover happening at the end of the year, so they are looking to bring in a Freelance/Sub-Contractor to reinforce their team and add more technical skills to their Messaging team.
- The customer has always received great feedback from previous consultants and have a great reputation in the industry to work with, equally they offer mostly remote working and a long-term project.

Job Details
Messaging Architect
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the migration of email and collaboration systems from on-premises Exchange to a cloud-based solution. This role involves understanding the current infrastructure, designing migration strategies, and ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migration Planning: Develop detailed migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Infrastructure Assessment: Analyse the existing Exchange environment to identify dependencies and potential challenges for migration.
- Migration Execution: Perform the actual migration, which may include moving mailboxes, public folders, and other data, as well as configuring connectors and mail flow.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of the new Exchange environment to ensure functionality and data integrity.
- End-User Support: Assist end-users with any migration-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and provide guidance.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of the migration process, configurations, and post-migration tasks.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that security and compliance standards are maintained or improved during the migration process.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with Exchange Server technologies and best practices to continually optimise the email and collaboration infrastructure.
Technical Environment : Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft Exchange 2019, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft365, Powershell
- Working alongside a team of 6 others, including the Project Manager, Architect, 2 Engineers and 2 Administrators you will be responsible for working closely with the other Architect to ensure a smooth migration.
- The project is due to take around 18 Months and your services would be required for this period of time, whilst there is also an opportunity to join other projects and support the wider organisation in a more long term capacity.
- No certificates are required, but any relevant Microsoft, Workplace or Messaging Certifications will certainly go a long way in supporting your application (MCSE for example)
