Data Privacy Lead

Glocomms partnered with a leading retail firm in the search for a Data Privacy Lead. You will be responsible for protecting the organization's sensitive data from cyber threats and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. Your primary objective will be to develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures, policies, and practices to safeguard customer and employee data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain a strong cybersecurity posture throughout the organization.
A few responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies: Create and update comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and policies aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize cybersecurity risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Data privacy compliance management: Stay up-to-date with relevant data privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Ensure the organization's compliance with these requirements by implementing appropriate cybersecurity controls.
- Cybersecurity risk assessments: Conduct regular cybersecurity risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to data privacy. Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize risks and implement effective controls to mitigate those risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., cybersecurity, information technology, or a related discipline). A higher degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable.
- 5 - 7 years of proven experience in a cybersecurity or data privacy role, preferably within the retail industry or a related sector.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their relationship to cybersecurity practices.
